Trionfale House

Trionfale House The apartment is located within a historic building designed by Sabatini in the early 1900s, in Rome’s Trionfale district. It is a building of great charm, featuring structural and material elements with a strong identity that guided the entire renovation project. The intervention involved a complete reconstruction of the walls and a new internal layout, designed to make the spaces more fluid and functional while simultaneously enhancing the home’s original proportions. A unifying element is the Italian herringbone wood flooring chosen for all main rooms: a continuous, luminous surface that guides the internal path and brings warmth to the spaces. The brick ceilings have been left exposed in certain areas, emphasizing the materiality of the original shell and creating a balanced contrast with the cleaner, neutral surfaces of the walls. Great attention was paid to the design of thresholds and passages, resolved through soft arches or simple lintel casings that punctuate the layout and create a fluid visual sequence between the kitchen, living area, and study. The kitchen, conceived as an integral part of the living space, features natural oak cabinetry and a countertop and backsplash in green marble—a material with a strong presence chosen to dialogue with the apartment’s color palette and introduce a more intense chromatic note. Color plays a central role as a true design tool: warm, desaturated tones accompany the rooms, defining different atmospheres without interrupting the spatial continuity. In the bedroom, the chromatic scheme combines with the decision to preserve and highlight traces of the original masonry, left exposed as a mark of time and the building’s historical stratification. The bathrooms represent an independent material chapter: both feature terrazzo surfaces used as a continuous, enveloping element, paired with carefully designed fixtures. The project thus presents itself as a measured, bespoke intervention where every choice—spatial, material, and chromatic—is intended to enhance the building’s identity and strike a balance between historical memory and contemporary living. Via Giuseppe Messina

Via Giuseppe Messina This project is defined by an extensive use of color; green, terracotta, and wood tones are the protagonists of this design. In terms of layout, a single open-plan environment was created to house both the living room and kitchen. Additionally, a second bathroom was created within the master bedroom, along with a small walk-in closet. Custom joinery—such as the large green wardrobe at the entrance—helped create various utility spaces, including a coat closet, shoe cabinet, laundry area, and storage, which are fundamental elements that enrich the functionality of the home Location Rome – Via Giuseppe Messina Year 2024 Area 80 mq

Via Ignazio Guidi

Via Ignazio Guidi This project was created for a wonderful family. Right from the start, the great synergy with the clients allowed us to work together with great enthusiasm, both on the composition of the new spaces and on the search for materials and the color palette. The kitchen is undoubtedly the main focus of the living area. It was custom-made in carpentry, while the hood and the counter were custom-made in masonry and then treated differently. The counter was covered with 3D relief tiles in sage green. The bathrooms were defined and designed in every detail together with the clients based on their tastes and needs. In particular, a bathroom with a shower was created with marvelous forest green tiles, only in the shower area, and very light microcement. The bathroom with the bathtub is characterized by Terracotta color for walls, ceilings, and floors covered with a herringbone-patterned tile. Decorative ceiling profiles and antique furniture contribute to creating the warm and welcoming atmosphere of this apartment. Villa Porto Santo Stefano

Villa Porto Santo Stefano The villa is situated on Monte Argentario, characterized by a rugged coastline, rich coves, cliffs, and lush vegetation. The architecture was designed in 1946 by architect Ugo Luccichenti, a prominent representative of Roman rationalism. The renovation of the interior spaces was carried out with great delicacy, aiming to respect the architectural choices made by the original architect. From a distribution perspective, new functional spaces were created, in line with current living needs. The original Vietri ceramic flooring throughout the house underwent careful restoration. Where recovery was not possible, antique ceramic was paired with reclaimed wood flooring. The rubber-clad staircase was transformed into teak wood, and the balustrade faithfully adheres to the original design in brass and ochre-colored ropes. Doors designed by Lucicchenti were completely restored. High-quality and artistically valuable furniture, such as the dining table, chairs, and Vico Magistretti’s sideboard, were integrated into the project. A meticulous study of both natural and artificial light was conducted, taking into account the client’s needs. All bedroom furnishings were crafted in iron, differing in color from room to room, as were the bathrooms. The terrace floor features white and blue stripes reminiscent of the sea’s waves, creating continuity with the panoramic view. All lighting was handmade by a small lighting workshop. The kitchen and iron furnishings were created by Bior Cucine. The project was executed by Tehome. Via Pereira

Via Pereira This house was tailor-made for Giorgia, Federico, and their little girl. The space was completely rearranged according to the family’s needs. Special attention was given to the restoration of the existing 1950s doors in the house. The glass door leading to the living area was restored, and a transom with curved corners was added, both to increase the amount of natural light and to provide more dynamism and softness to the existing glass door. Color plays a fundamental role in this project, evident at the entrance, where walls, ceilings, and cabinets are treated with a light denatured sugar paper, as well as in the bathrooms and finally in the kitchen. Via Del Mascherino

Via Del Mascherino This project is the result of a tremendous team effort with Raffaella, the wonderful homeowner. Raffaella has a highly refined aesthetic sense, and thanks to the empathy that developed between us, we were able to modify the spaces, making the house more in line with her current needs, and giving a new “skin” to walls, ceilings, and furnishings. Colors, fabrics, wallpapers, and vintage furniture pieces characterize this project, which I always hold dear to my heart because it also gave me the opportunity to get to know Raffaella and her beautiful family. Via Eugamone

Via Eugamone Restyling of an outdoor space in Casal Palocco (RM). The project idea was to connect the internal living area with the future outdoor living area. This was achieved by installing a new French door that opens directly onto the teak-paved area covered by a pergola with a movable horizontal surface. Additionally, a new masonry kitchen was created to allow total usability of the space during the summer. The teak-paved space hosts a lounge area with armchairs, a small sofa, and a spacious table for hosting many guests. Regarding material choices, a natural palette was preferred, with highlights including travertine, teak, cement tiles, and abundant greenery. Location Rome | Casal Palocco Year 2020 Area 400 mq

Via Federico Paolini

Via Federico Paolini Complete renovation of an apartment in Ostia. This project completely revolutionized the kitchen’s position, creating a living area in continuity. Additionally, a second guest bathroom and a master bedroom with a walk-in closet and personal bathroom were added. Handcrafted hexagonal cement tiles with chromatic variations were used for the flooring, custom-made according to my design by the Sicilian company Tomasello Pavimenti.
